Course Information
The Master Cosmetologist program offers comprehensive training with a total duration of 1500 hours. During this program, students will receive extensive theoretical and practical instruction in various aspects of cosmetology. From hairstyling and hair cutting to coloring, permanent waving, chemical hair relaxing, thermal styling, nail and skin care techniques, anatomy, chemistry, bacteriology, sanitation, professionalism, retailing, equipment care, and salon management – all essential skills will be covered.

1. Develop knowledge, understanding, skill, and appreciation in the theory and operation of cosmetology arts & sciences.
2. Cultivate habits of good workmanship and orderly performance of various tasks in the work environment.
3. Emphasize optimal sanitation routines to protect clients from unnecessary exposure to harmful microorganisms.
4. Master the arts of hair, nail, and esthetics, encompassing the Master Cosmetologist program curriculum.
5. Learn to select wisely, care for, and use commercial products related to the application of treatments.
6. Prepare students for the state board examinations, leading to licensure to practice.

Course Format/Instructional Methods
Our experienced instructors employ a diverse range of teaching techniques to ensure comprehensive learning. Lectures, visual aids, interactive games, guest speakers, competitions, and more are used to present the course materials effectively. The Master Cosmetologist program follows a hybrid CIMA/on-campus format, comprising 350 CIMA hours and 1150 physical contact hours on campus. After completing 250 hours of instruction, students are permitted to work on live clients on the clinic floor. A strict week-by-week sequence of instruction enables students to excel in both state board exams and the beauty industry.

Grading System
Throughout the program, student academic progress is evaluated on theory, practical, and clinical work. Reviews are conducted at specific clock hour mid-points. To successfully complete the program, students are expected to achieve a minimum grade point and attendance average of 70%. The grading system is as follows:
• 100-90%: A (Excellent)
• 89.9-80%: B (Above Average)
• 79.9-70%: C (Satisfactory)
• 69.9-60%: D (Unsatisfactory)
• Below 60%: F (Failing)

Graduation Requirements
To graduate from the program, students must meet the following requirements:
1. Documented attendance for the total contracted hours of instruction, as required by state law.
2. Attain an overall GPA of 70% or above.
3. Fulfill tuition contract and course costs (with an established payment plan, if necessary).

Physical Demands
Please note that the program involves physical demands, such as standing for extended periods and using arms and hands consistently.

Safety requirements
Safety is of paramount importance. Students are required to read and follow all manufacturers’ directions regarding the use of chemicals. Additionally, awareness of necessary precautions and procedures when using electricity is essential. Protective clothing may need to be worn during prolonged exposure to certain hair chemicals.

Upon completing the Master Cosmetologist program, entry-level stylists working in a salon can average $44,000.00 per year, according to the Department of Labor Bureau of Labor Statistics. Licensing requirements
Following program completion, students must submit two picture IDs and a money order for $109.00 to PSI, Inc. for test scheduling. Upon completion of the test, the results will be sent to the graduate, the board, and the school.
